The Independent International Organization I.M.A.D.S. is an organization with the purpose of teaching and promoting the Israeli system of self defense Krav Maga, created in Belgium by its actual technical director and leader, Stéphane Denis.
The first school opened its doors in January 2001 in Wegnez Pepinster – Belgium, under the name of I.M.A.D.S. Academy. Shortly after, other schools in the country but also beyond its borders will follow. All these Belgian and foreign schools that respect the same workflow and methodology of teaching work together under the common label I.M.A.D.S.
The solid foundations of our organization are assured by the high technical level as well as the acknowledged quality of its teaching methods.
The specificity of its technical program and highly realistic teaching methods are often solicited by different organizations and individuals wishing to learn this method and its principles in optimal conditions.
To date, our organization is strongly active in its mother country Belgium but also in different European countries. We provide regular classes for civilians, adults as well as children and also specific classes tailored to the requirements of different law enforcement groups, security agencies and other sectors facing personal safety problems on daily basis, all that in Belgium but also outside its borders.

An extraordinary method of self defense
This method is based on natural reactions of a human body.
Some principles of the discipline:
- Avoid dangerous areas
- Talk out of a conflict situation
- Take advantage of the surprise in your defense
- Use the shortest, simplest way to defend and counter attack if necessary
- Use any element at reach that will provide you a certain advantage over the aggressor
- When counter attacking, target the weak points of aggressors body

An extraordinary team of enthusiasts
The professionalism of our senior teaching team is based on the mandatory technical and methodological reviews as well as on the regular participation in various recycling seminars, under the supervision and control of technical director Stéphane Denis, graduate of Royal Military Institute of Physical Education and Sports (IRMEP).

An extraordinary international organization
Various courses provided within our organization will bring you:
- Self confidence
- Physical condition
- Ability to analyze a dangerous situation
- Better recovery
- Body flexibility
- And much more
You’ll be given the possibility to acquire that at your personal pace in a friendly atmosphere in accordance with the rule “practice sport and learn something useful”.

Starting into Krav Maga
One of the particularities of I.M.A.D.S. technical program is the program dedicated to our youngest students. Composed of three modules, each separated in two levels it is specially conceived to introduce children as young as ten into Krav Maga.
The defense techniques they learn don’t lose any of their efficiency considering the seriousness of the subject but are combined with entertainment, amusement and emulation within the effort.
Main guidelines of our lessons:
Everyone has the possibility to practice at his own pace, within his physical limitations. A practitioner can choose not to do an exercise or to switch it with another one, if he doesn’t feel ready to execute it. This method is applied in both Junior and Adult classes.

The course of a training session:

First part – warm up
: Every training session begins with a specific warm up with the purpose to prepare the body to upcoming workout, thus minimizing the risk of injury.

Second part – the body of the lesson: The body of the lesson is composed by reviewing some of the techniques learned during previous sessions in different forms and situations. Follows the part in which students learn new techniques and finally placing those techniques in a realistic situation. This part is very important, because it allows improving different qualities like ability to analyze a situation, reactivity and other elements essential to efficient self defense.

Third part – cool down: This last part is composed by relaxing exercises that allow the body temperature to lower gradually and stretching exercises that guarantee a better recovery and helps to prevent injuries.
